Self Reflection

So recently I had this reflection talk with one of my friend. I think being a women who's in their 30's should have more confident in presenting themselves. Looking presentable and being confident is important to feel good about yourself in each and every way. Also whenever you present yourself, majority people will judge you by the way you look, talk and act.

I feel that ever since I had my daughter, I kind of let that go. I've become more softer, lack of confident, uncertain about myself, and looking sloppy. And as for the looking part, I have to admit I'm becoming an unpresentable wife or person to the society.

I don't care what I dress like, because occasionally I do not to see anyone. I remembered when I was in my early 20's, it takes me at least an hour to get out of the house. I always dress myself and present well and that I took good care of myself. I realized now I lost all that until my friend told me the truth that I look old for my age. I'm not hip anymore and this quote by Coco Chanel haunts me - "Nature gives you the face you have at twenty; it is up to you to merit the face you have at fifty".
Another factor is that I never try anything new and always play on the safe side, in example I never try using funky eye shadow colors, dressing more sexy, low cut shirts, never try having to curl my hair. This year I'm going to try all that and love myself and not be too critical on what others will tell me. (because my husband's side of the family are old fashion and they always bickering me not to do this or that) - Maybe this is the reason of his family I gave up on my looks and my friend's truth hit me pretty hard to let myself enjoy my age instead of making myself to appear older than I am.
So for this New Year Resolution, I'm going to commit to look the best and be more confident of who I am.

  1. women in ANY age should be confident! :)

before i had my son i had plenty of time. i do my nail polish EVERY NIGHT! there was a period where i neglected looking after myself. i looked crappy and i didn't feel good.

though this is a society where people judge you by your looks, i don't make myself look presentable just for them. i make myself look good to feel good about myself. once you feel good about yourself who cares what others think?

  2. I totally agree with your comment at any age we should feel confident about ourselves.

Additionally totally true it's not dress yourself for people but for ourselves. I'm learning to do that more and showering myself more these days. Now I think I have become a make up addict and wanting to buy this or that. Not good it's going to leave my wallet empty.
