Louie and Chan

It's always rewarding to have someone to watch our kids for even an hour so that my husband and I can try a new place. This time we ventured out to a new place called Louie and Chan located in the Lower East Side of New York City. Louie and Chan is a cozy Italian place that serves pastas and pizzas. The ambience of this restaurant is small, dimly lit and cozy at the same time, which is perfect to celebrate Valentine's Day. After my Italy trip, I'm obsessed and love my pastas to fill my happy tummy.  I read some reviews that Louie and Chan is considered a Michelin Guide restaurant recommended and finally, I'm happy to have tried this place.

MARROW Savory Gianduja crusted bone marrow, chile & white balsamic jam, Himalayan sea salt, torn bread

We first ordered the Marrow appetizer, the bone marrow was filled with delicious fats topping off with slices of torn bread with a white balsamic jam and Himalyan Sea Salt.  Every bite of this was savory and tangy at the same time.  This is a highly recommend appetizer to start out with.  Then my husband and I shared this TAGLIATA DI MANZO Sirloin Steak and Pasta dish.  The Sirloin Steak was cooked medium rare and topped off with fresh cherry tomatoes, basils, parsley, and celeries.  Each bite was so fresh and refreshing, I could taste the freshness of the herbs making it satisfying to my mouth.  We ordered the Cacio E Pepe Spaghetti, butter, pepper, Parmigiano, Percorino Romano Garlic, it was a nice and simple pasta dish that complimented well with the steak dish I ordered.

TAGLIATA DI MANZO 10oz Black Angus sirloin steak, tomato/celery insalata
CACIO E PEPE - Spaghetti, butter, pepper, Parmigiano, Pecorino Romano, garlic

I highly recommend this place and they do accept reservation.  My husband and I walked in and there was no wait time at all typically because it was on a cold day.  Service was very nice and the food was served instantly fast.
